Director of Mental Health and Wellness Initiative

| The Director of the Mental Health and Wellness Initiative for the National Benevolent Association is primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote an integrated vision of holistic wellness across all NBA programs. This work will enhance and strengthen the programs and capacity of the organization and its partners related to mental health and wellness policies, processes, and practice. The Director also works with other staff as they design, implement and evaluate programs with specific attention given to aspects of mental health and wellness. The Director provides leadership in developing a clear strategic vision for this ongoing program area in line with NBA’s mission, vision, and values. The Director is adept in building collaborative partnerships, has a strong team orientation, a high tolerance for ambiguity, the ability to adapt quickly to change, and effectively works with persons from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds. The Mental Health and Wellness Initiative (MHWI) is a unique and strategic focus area with the leadership and organizational development work of NBA, as well as intersects with goals and programmatic initiatives of the NBA Community Engagement such as peer groups and justice and advocacy. The MHWI concentrates its work in three programmatic areas: (1) Leadership Wellness and Corporate Health, (2) Mental Health Justice/Wellness Equity, and (3) Crisis and Trauma Care & Support. This work also includes supporting the work of social entrepreneurship and young adult leadership proactively connecting with mental health and wellness components across those areas. The MHWI Director will work effectively within NBA’s stated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. This position is part of the program team of the NBA and reports directly to the Vice President of Organizational & Leadership Development.
