Mental Health America (MHA) is in search of an Affiliate Network and Management Associate. The Affiliate Network and Grants Management Associate serves as a key member of the Affiliate Network team, offering essential administrative support and ensuring the quality of membership records. Responsibilities include managing the affiliate network dashboard, updating contact information for affiliates, managing dues renewal cycles, compiling consolidated 990s from the affiliates, and assisting affiliates with network-related needs. In addition to these tasks, the ideal candidate will actively contribute to grants management, affiliate network reporting, and providing technical assistance to affiliates. While reporting to the Executive Vice President of the Affiliate Network, this role collaborates closely with the Senior Director of Grants Management & Affiliate Engagement and works collectively with the Development and Partnerships teams.
Candidates should possess experience in component relations, database management, administrative skills, strong grant writing, analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The role involves cultivating relationships, gathering feedback from affiliates, managing member records, collaborating on marketing materials, and supporting the Affiliate Mini-Grant program.
Mental Health America is located in Alexandria, VA. This position is preferred to be local; however, remote candidates will be considered. There may be some travel to meetings (up to 10%). Employees must reside within the U.S. and be eligible to work in the U.S.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This role includes the following essential functions and other duties as assigned:
Affiliate Support
Maintain and manage the integrity and maintenance of affiliate member records and reporting within the membership database, affiliate website directory, and Google group e-mail lists.
Oversee annual dues collection, renewals, and notifications.
Coordinate annual consolidated 990s to highlight the impact and breadth of the affiliate network.
Provide updated affiliate contact information to RPC representatives.
Prepare and disseminate meeting minutes following committee meetings.
Responsible for the timely administration of all affiliate membership applications, re-affiliations, renewals, and general requests for affiliate information.
Regularly solicits affiliate input from current, prospective, and inactive affiliates to better understand affiliate needs.
Grants Management Support
Research funding opportunities across databases and compile monthly grant opportunity e-mails based on grant research conducted.
Prepare meeting minutes for distribution from grantee meetings.
Add affiliate details to approved grant agreements.
Coordinate and schedule meetings.
Create slide decks for webinars or presentations.
Collaborate to help monitor the performance of mini-grant award recipients to identify potential issues and technical assistance needs.
Maintain and manage affiliate grantee records and affiliate funding needs and priorities in Google email lists and in project management software.
Provide assistance in updating records and forms within grant management software.
Solicit supplemental information from affiliate applicants and grantees and compile it for timely decision-making and reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least 3-5 years of experience managing component or member relations.
Experience with CRM databases like Salesforce and grants administration.
Broad knowledge of Canva or other design programs.
Broad knowledge of fundraising compliance and operations.
Highly organized with project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
