The Dietitian assesses patients for nutritional status and risk factors, performs nutrition consults for identified concerns, provides nutrition counseling, monitors and makes recommendations for specialized nutrition support, participates on the patient care team, provides nutrition education and training, and participates in professional/research activities.
Responsibilities: 1.Screens patients for nutritional risk factors, documents screens and follows-up in medical record.
2.Performs nutrition assessments and consults.
3.Provides nutrition counseling individualized to patient needs addressing educational ability, cultural factors and economic/social concerns.
4.Provides appropriate recommendations for specialized nutrition support.
5.Prepares and presents nutrition in-services for medical students, residents, nurses, nutrition students and other health care professionals.
6.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
7.Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
1.Experience in Nutrition and Dietetics is required.
2.Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred.
3.Experience in Pediatric healthcare is preferred.
4.Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience
1.Education: bachelor???s degree in Dietetics is required. Master???s degree preferred.
2.Certification: Registered Dietitian and Licensure in state of Ohio or must be eligible to register for the Registered Dietitian Exam upon hire and obtain their Registered Dietitian credential and Ohio Licensure within 4 months of hire.
3.Years of relevant experience: 2 years is preferred.
