The Psychology Services Department at Children's Minnesota is seeking a compassionate and experienced Pediatric Psychologist to partner with the Gender Health Clinic located on the Minneapolis campus. The pediatric psychologist will play a crucial role in providing initial mental health intake assessments. Expertise will be essential in providing guidance to patients who are considering medical intervention, ensuring collaborative and informed decision making throughout their gender affirming medical treatment journey.
Writing letters in support of gender affirming treatment for patients seeking medical interventions, as required for their care.
Provide short term therapy to patients during their gender affirming journey
Meet regularly with the multi-specialty Gender Health team to collaborate on patient care.
Clinical expertise in working with both children and adolescents, with a particular expertise in the field of transgender health/mental health would be beneficial. The ideal candidate would also be interested in providing supervision in our postdoctoral fellowship.
Department Overview The Psychological Services department provides services on both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses. Specific services include individual and family therapy, psychological assessment, neuropsychological assessment, and inpatient consultation and liaison. We have pediatric psychologists embedded in a number of specialty clinics, including Diabetes/Endocrine, Feeding, Cleft and Craniofacial, Cancer and Blood Disorders, Gender Health, and Sleep.
Minnesota Licensed psychologist (obtained by start of position).
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology from an APA-accredited graduate program.
Clinical internship required. APA-accredited program strongly preferred.
Completion of postdoctoral fellowship hours.
Experience treating gender diverse patients, with strong preference for experience in a gender health clinic.
