Outpatient Psychiatrist

Responsibilities of working as an outpatient psychiatrist at the Grady Behavioral Health clinic include but are not limited to:

Patient Evaluation and Management- This would include having a working knowledge and ability to implement best practices of medication management, ordering tests or labs as needed, making referrals, being responsive to patient requests outside of appointments with voicemail. Provider should also be able to work with the family in collaboration with the patient about plan for treatment.

Supervision and teaching of residents- this includes staffing patients with the residents, offering teaching and guidance about management, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and documentation.

Participation and attendance in treatment team meetings and staff meetings. Provider needs to be able to work collaboratively with other members of the care team to develop treatment plans and discuss progress toward goals.

Must be able to exhibit proficiency in use of the electronic medical record, and email. This includes the documentation requirements for completing a note for a patient visit but also ordering medication, communicating with other providers within the system, cosigning notes for the trainees or midlevel providers

Must be able to document in a timely fashion and with appropriate knowledge of billing requirements for the type of visit, type of insurance etc.
