Position Summary
The Surgical Weight Loss Specialty Dietitian is a Registered Dietitian responsible for providing comprehensive nutrition assessment, evidence-based medical nutrition therapy, and counseling clients on a highly effective treatment plan pre and post-bariatric surgery. A great amount of passion and resourcefulness is required to thrive in this position. The Dietitian meets frequently with patients: pre and post-op with appointments focused on dietary education and modification, as well as laboratory result review/treatment of micronutrient deficiencies. The incumbent provides education on behavioral modifications, discusses dietary supplementation, and communicates/coordinates with bariatric surgeons, bariatricians or referring physicians on follow-up care. Additional responsibilities include care coordination and referrals to interdisciplinary team members including behavioral counseling, eating disorder clinics, pharmaceutical resource clinics, iron infusion services, and plastic surgery for skin removal.
Requirements
Bachelorâs degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, or related field Master preferred (MS, MA)
Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association
Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registry (CDR) in good standing
Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) or obtain an NPI prior to employment start date
Certified Dietitian in the state of Washington
Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM) preferred or obtained within two (2) years of hire
Certified in Basic Life Support
Minimum two (2) years adult bariatric/weight loss surgery experience preferred
Prior experience with adult obesity preferred
Prior experience with group facilitation and individual counseling preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations
MultiCare provides a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, MultiCare shares a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The starting pay for this position is $65,707.00 and the pay scale is $65,707.00 - $94,578.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicantâs years of experience align.
