Bartlett Regional Hospital Dietitians provide both inpatient and outpatient services, with opportunities to provide services for a variety of healthcare needs including diabetes, enteral and parental nutrition, oncology, behavioral health and more.
Job Description
This position is responsible for the application of the Nutrition Care Process, including completion of the nutrition assessments, determination of the nutrition diagnosis, development and implementation of nutrition interventions and monitoring and evaluation of the patient’s progress. This position is also responsible for care planning, educating and counseling patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Additionally, this position provides: accurate, effective and evidence-based nutrition information to all customers, nutrition expertise as part of a multidisciplinary team, and communication between dietary and nursing departments and the patient. This position performs duties in compliance with all pertinent regulatory standards and agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
Experience: Minimum of one year work experience in the field of nutrition is preferred. Experience in an acute care setting is also preferred.
License: Current Licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Alaska. Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider CPR within 60 days of hire. Completion of the RDN order writing competency exam within 60 days of hire. Valid driver’s license, current auto liability insurance and reliable transportation is required if assigned to Home Care Services.

Originally known as St. Ann's Hospital, the hospital opened in 1886 and was operated by the Sisters of St. Ann until the 1960s. In 1965, the hospital's operations were turned over to the City and Borough of Juneau, and a new facility was built at the hospital's present location on Hospital Drive.
Bartlett Regional Hospital is licensed for a total of 57 inpatient beds and 16 residential substance-abuse treatment facility beds in the Rainforest Recovery Center. The hospital serves a 15,000-square-mile region in the northern part of Southeast Alaska. Approximately 55,000 people reside in our service area, with most communities inaccessible by road.
